「シングルモルトウイスキー山崎」は、山崎の土地が育む希少なウイスキーです。山崎蒸溜所で生まれる原酒だけが、「シングルモルトウイスキー山崎」になることを許されます。
山崎は、古くから京都と大阪を結ぶ交通の要衝として栄えてきました。羽柴秀吉と明智光秀が天下をかけて争った「山崎の合戦」の舞台ともなった土地です。
山崎は古来、水生野（みなせの）と呼ばれた名水の里で、万葉の昔から、その山紫水明の景色は多くの歌人に読まれたほど。また、かの千利休は秀吉のためにこの地に茶室「待庵」を築き、山崎の水で茶を点てました。
山崎はまた、桂川、宇治川、木津川の三川が合流する特殊な地形にあります。この地形と辺りを取り囲む山々が、濃い霧を生みやすい自然環境をつくり出し、この湿潤な気候がウイスキーの熟成に良い影響を与え「シングルモルトウイスキー山崎」は、山崎の地に湧く名水で仕込まれ、山崎の自然をみずからに織り込みながら熟成していく、まさに山崎の地が溶け込んだウイスキーなのです。
